Form · Materiality · Spatial Experimentation
Academic Architecture Project
This project explores architecture as an open-ended process of experimentation, without a predetermined program or functional requirement. Beginning with a series of architectural precedents, I used the project as an opportunity to investigate form, materiality, structure, and spatial relationships through a collection of intentionally complex and unconventional ideas.
Rather than working toward a single, controlled design language, I allowed different forms, geometries, and materials to overlap, intersect, and compete with one another. Through this process, I began to recognize an important characteristic of my own design practice: an interest in chaos, complexity, and contradiction, and the challenge of finding relationships within them.
The project became an exploration of how seemingly disconnected ideas can be brought together through aesthetic, creative, and technical decisions. Instead of eliminating complexity, I embraced it as a design tool, using materiality and spatial composition to create an architecture that feels unpredictable while maintaining an underlying sense of cohesion.
